What a coup for Norilana! The Flat Earth books are a magisterial achievement, but sorely underappreciated. I hope you guys can get the word out to more readers.

Thank you, and I am supremely excited and honored to be doing this with Tanith and John. Please do pass on the word to everyone you know, every bit of word of mouth helps! :-)

Very cool. I'm really looking forward to the work of hers that you're publishing -- the short story collection especially.

Having just found myself in possession of a Kindle, I was wondering, from a publisher standpoint, what's your view on Kindle editions? I'm finding that the bulk of available books is in the 'recent out of print' category, books from ~2003 that can safely be determined not to be sapping revenue from print sales -- there's hesitation on just about everything else in the modern market.

I noticed, though, that you have work available for Kindle download! Will the Norilana books (Clockwork Phoenix, Tanith Lee's work) be available for Kindle when they go into print publication? What are your thoughts on the cost/benefit of the Kindle downloads and potential revenue from them?

Thanks and I look forward to many exciting projects ahead of us.

Now, as far as Kindle -- and other e-book venues and formats -- I do expect to start doing that eventually, but right now I am still getting the company growing and established with regular paper editions.

Not sure what you mean when you say I have work available for Kindle download. Hmm, do you mean my own books? Because I had nothing to do with that -- the Kindle editions of my own stuff are third party deals, probably (and here I am guessing) through Fictionwise.

One of these days when things slow down a bit I am going to do the e-books for all the original Norilana titles. It may be hard to imagine but for the moment Norilana Books is just... me. One person doing everything. *grin* (Though, I must say I have awesome anthology editors who do their thing very well!)

Ahh, yes, it must have been a deal through Fictionwise that put work of yours in the Kindle stores: http://www.amazon.com/I-Want-Paint-Sky/dp/B000FBJ9GU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=digital-text&qid=1211494078&sr=1-1 .

That's an interesting insight into the Kindle process all by itself -- that that could happen without you, as the author, knowing about it. But I guess that's because Fictionwise already has those electronic rights. Still.

I can certainly understand it being too much overhead for right now. Chalk it up to my Kindle enthusiasm and resulting disinclination to purchase paper books. ;)

This is really, really good news, you really made my day with this, as Lee is a very underappreciated writer IMHO. The Flat Earth series is her masterpiece so it's good to see it re-released with new glorious cover art by John Kaiine. Hope to see new books from her too! Thanks a lot.

Waaay offtopic but, I just saw that you have a science fiction imprint, I was wondering if there was any way to acquire the rights to another of my favourite female writers, V. C. Andrews. She left an unpublished manuscript after her death called Gods Of Green Mountain, a science fiction novel, which was released as an ebook through simonsays.com years ago. As I hate reading ebooks and prefer much more the real deal, I never bought it. since there's a lot of fan interest in releasing the book on paper, could you try releasing that? That would make my day again!

This is the greatest news I've heard in a while. I've been a fan of Tanith Lee's for 15 years and the hardest thing is finding her older work. Two Things I'd like to see published that the fans have been waiting for: Greyglass, the 4th Scarabae novel.

She has a great following, I think you've made a great decision.
